To successfully launch their new location in the St. Louis market, Tin Roof, a food and live music venue, had to move quickly. Just a few blocks from Busch Stadium, Tin Roof wanted to establish themselves with a strong opening and quick development of their customer base prior to the close of the St. Louis Cardinals 2017 season.
Working under a design-build arrangement, Lawrence Group helped Tin Roof complete test fits and schematic design concurrently with their lease negotiations. Lawrence Group fast tracked the completion of the space through a design-build MEPS approach and by self-performing the carpentry work. The construction work on this new 8,100 SF venue was completed in only eight weeks from receipt of permit to substantial completion. The renovations to the existing restaurant space (previously designed by Lawrence Group) includes a main bar, late night bar and indoor/outdoor green room bar with a live stage and dj stage.
Continuing this partnership, Lawrence Group designed and constructed the Tin Roof bar at the EpiCentre in uptown Charlotte. This DJ entertainment and gaming space was a complete tenant build-out of a vacant shell space above an active pharmacy. A new main bar, walk-in cooler, men’s and women’s restrooms, two new stages and DJ booths for arcade games and music were added as part of the renovation. Lawrence Group obtained a general contractor’s license in North Carolina and self-performed all carpentry and concrete work to help keep the project on schedule. Having already worked with Tin Roof on two other locations, our team was able to anticipate the owner’s program and coordination items, contributing to our third successful project.
Tin Roof’s next expansion to North Carolina converted an existing office space into a new bar/restaurant featuring a new rooftop patio and bar, full commercial kitchen in the basement, and a large bar and dance area on the first floor. Situated in the heart of one of Raleigh’s entertainment and night life districts, it is one of the first locations to offer live music and DJ five to seven nights a week. Brand standard items include concrete bar tops, their signature main bar, and elevated stage and DJ booth areas. Each location is designed to provide a local feel.
