Challenge
DHI Communities wanted to expand their offerings from for-purchase single family homes and townhomes to multifamily residential apartments. They selected Lawrence Group to develop the prototype apartment buildings for the new venture.
Solution
The Lawrence Group team participated in a design charrette process, developing one-, two- and three-bedroom solutions. Once unit types were refined and combined into four distinct building types, Lawrence Group adapted these prototype apartment buildings to fit each specific site. Each site has a unique exterior design reflecting the context of the surrounding development.
The Ascend at Jacobs Reserve encompasses 21 acres and provides a total of 384 apartment units within 16 apartment buildings. The complex includes a 7,200-square-foot clubhouse and leasing office with lounge space, a game room, a fitness center and business center as well as swimming pool, outdoor barbeque grilling pavilions, putting green and dog park.
Lawrence Group has completed four site adaption projects to date of the initial prototype design.
