Based around the concept of “well-traveled” food, Expat BBQ highlights the universal appeal of barbecue through inventive marriages of international flavor.
Incorporating this philosophy into the design, Lawrence Group wove vibrant flourishes of world culture throughout the former industrial space. The main dining room features a soaring wall of travel posters which absorbs sun from the foundry skylights, while intimate private dining nooks are defined by floor-to ceiling mixing drums. Visitors of the restaurant’s second floor are greeted by a two-ton concrete elephant named Patty before entering the fast-casual concept. A generous balcony offers views from the heart of City Foundry and hosts live music performances on an outdoor stage. Guests are invited to watch chefs work in the butchery, with windows facing into the restaurant and to pedestrians on Foundry Way.
Expat BBQ is a celebration of international cuisine, leveraging the power of design and the unique character of City Foundry to create a wholly unique dining experience.
