Following the successful development of the original Soda Fountain restaurant at St. Louis Union Station, developer Lodging Hospitality Management retained Lawrence Group’s design team when expanding the concept to its Westport campus.
The new Soda Fountain Express retains the brand’s modern-meets-retro diner and candy shop experience while embracing a fast-casual focus. Marquee lighting and custom mosaic floor tiles bring a nostalgic, playful feeling to the new space, while reserved use of saturated colors add warmth and energy to the clean aesthetic. A built-in sweets display with fun, interactive candy dispensers allows the customer to find their perfect sweet treat while queuing in line, seamlessly adapting the Soda Fountain experience for the new format. This deeply integrated brand experience is present throughout the space; graphics, menus, and even server attire reinforce Soda Fountain’s identity as a unique St. Louis brand, which now beckons visitors young and old to indulge their sweet tooth at Westport Plaza.
