Lawrence Group Designs Fun, New Workplace Destination for St. Louis-Based Entertainment Cruise Productions

by Lawrence Group

Entertainment Cruise Productions (ECP), a growing leader in live entertainment at sea, sought a new workplace in St. Louis that reflected its fun spirit and accommodated its future real estate needs. The company turned to experienced hospitality and workplace designers Lawrence Group to envision a new workspace that blurred the line between work and play to encourage leisure for all.

“ECP is a young, vibrant company with a great mission that was in an office that really didn’t relate to their branding or reflect what they did or how their teams work. Their former space also did not align with the company’s vision for the future, as it lacked collaboration spaces, or primary workspace that accommodated their current workforce and allowed for future growth,” said Lawrence Group Interior Designer Lisa Morrison.

Providing architecture, interior design and graphic design on the project, Lawrence Group’s experts worked alongside Entertainment Cruise Productions’ executives and staff to create the perfect workplace destination.

“The new offices deeply integrate branding and technology while embracing flexibility for staff at every turn, creating a space tailored to the spirit of their team,” said Morrison. “The final experience of the new office perfectly reflects Entertainment Cruise Productions and helps to recruit new team members while retaining its stellar staff. The new location of their Headquarters also provides both building and space amenities that enhance the work experience and make the office a desirable destination for staff and guests.”

Blending influences from the travel industry and Lawrence Group’s own hospitality expertise, the design for the new office reflects the fundamental goal to be employee-centric with its zones for work, collaboration and play. Sit-to-stand desks are available for all staff in addition to numerous break-out rooms and a state-of-the-art conference room, all equipped with seamless technological integrations for video calls and meetings.

The soft shapes and curves of the walls and lighting are inspired by the bow of a boat, with the primary circulation walking path evoking the feeling of being on a cruise ship’s promenade deck. The inviting entry portal and adjacent café space encourage warm connections between staff and visitors alike. Themed acoustical products; abundant daylighting; finishes and furnishings inspired by high-end cruise ships; and branded soft seating imbued with subtle oceanic hues create the comfortable, enveloping environment.
