Challenge
The repositioning of Nazareth Living Center combines independent living, assisted living memory care, assisted living, short-term rehabilitation and skilled nursing on one campus. The center sought to reach their goal of providing high-quality supportive services and care that would be available to residents as their needs change.
Solution
Lawrence Group developed a comprehensive team that worked closely with Nazareth Living Center to fully understand and embody their mission, needs and goals for the future.
Building a comprehensive community was of the utmost importance throughout the design of the Nazareth Living Center campus. Both licensed facilities (assisted living and skilled nursing) were designed using the household model, where small groups of residents share large common areas and dining rooms to create a home-like atmosphere. The staff is encouraged to be on the floor with residents at all times, reinforcing the staff-resident relationship. Decentralized nursing stations allow staff on each floor to better engage with residents, improve resident visibility and reduce walking distance for staff to reach residents when needed.
