SSM Health Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital recently celebrated a major milestone, topping off the 14-story facility, marking the placement of the highest structural beam on the new hospital frame at the corner of Chouteau Avenue and Grand Boulevard.
Design by Lawrence Group in partnership with HKS and built by general contractor McCarthy Building Companies, the new 505,092 SF replacement hospital will serve as the state-of-the-heart pediatric healthcare destination. The facility will include 200 inpatient beds with shelled space for future expansion. Specialized services include neonatal and pediatric intensive care, cardiology, cancer treatment, and dialysis care.
Set to open in 2027, the replacement hospital reflects SSM Health’s long-term commitment to expanding access to high-quality pediatric care while strengthening the future of healthcare in the St. Louis region.
