A powerhouse of strategic leadership and healthcare planning, King brings over 20 years of experience guiding teams and crafting renowned facilities across all facets of Healthcare – Healing, Learning and Discovery.

“His deep understanding of client needs and his ability to assemble the perfect team for each project ensure unparalleled growth for Lawrence Group,” said Mike Schnaare, president of Lawrence Group. “Ryan’s dedication to detail and big-picture vision, coupled with his impressive accomplishments, positions him as a driving force for the firm’s future success.”

Prior to Lawrence Group, King was a Principal at BSA LifeStructures in Creve Coeur, MO. His impressive healthcare design portfolio includes Springfield Memorial Hospital’s Patient Care Tower in Springfield, IL; Washington University School of Medicine/BJC HealthCare Center for Advanced Medicine in St. Louis County; Spring Clinic at Jacksonville Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville, IL and countless other projects.

King has a Bachelor of Architecture and a Master of Business Administration from Drury University in Springfield, MO.

King first became interested in becoming an architect when his 4th grade teacher assigned him a report on the “W” encyclopedia as punishment for misbehaving. He first learned about famous architect Frank Lloyd Wright in the process and decided that was what he wanted to do as a career. As his architectural career grew following college, so did his interest in healthcare design.

“Healthcare design allows an architect to create healing environments that are beneficial to all stakeholders. That is a really big deal, healing people and doing it through design,” said King. “After all of the twists and turns of my career I have come to realize people are a central theme. Being able to help people create a better healing environment through design is my passion.”

Outside of work, King spends his time with AIA Missouri advocating for the architectural profession, hunting, working on home renovations, and traveling with his family.
